Description

A lovely pair of antique Victorian earrings, each featuring a square imitation garnet (likely glass) and articulated design with hand-engraved detail, circa 1890’s. The earrings are yellow gold-filled (tested) with simple kidney-shaped ear wires and latch. The imitation garnets have a lovely purplish-red color and each measure 5.25 x 5.25 mm. They are each set in an 8-prong claw setting that is riveted in place. Each earring consists of a two-piece articulated design connected by jump rings. Overall dimensions are 1 3/8-inches (33.8) in length and 3/4-inches (19.75 mm) wide. Condition is very good: the stones have some sustained some chips (along the corners of the stones) and one of the rivets has a tiny bit of “play” plus is missing a cap on the reverse side. All condition issues are consistent with age and use.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is.  I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist.  I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc.  I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty.  If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina.  Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.   Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
