Description

A pair of vintage Victorian black onyx and seed pearl dangle earrings with whimsical yellow gold-filled mountings, circa 1890’s. Each earring is set with an oval black onyx that measures 15.5 x 10 mm with decorative trim riveted through the center. The trim has a leafy design and is set with two seed pearls. The onyx dangles from a fancy top that is also set with seed pearls. A simple kidney-shaped ear wire with latch is attached to the decorative top. Overall length of the earring is 1-inch (from the top of the ear wire to the base of the earring) and width is 3/8-inches. Condition is very good: some of the gold overlay has worn on the “high spots” of the design. The earwires are also slightly misshapen and should be worn/handled with care.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is.  I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist.  I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc.  I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty.  If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”.*  Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina.  Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.   Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.

*Please use care when handling: as with most antique earrings, the ear wires are delicate and can be broken if flexed too much when putting them on/taking them off
