Description

A gorgeous example of Victorian earrings featuring black enameling, a star-shaped design set with old cut diamonds and pearl, circa 1860’s. The earrings are yellow gold, the oval and dangles are 9 (ct) karat, the top ball may have been added at a later date and is 14k. Overall length of each earring is 1 7/8-inches. Bead at the top measures 7.8 mm with a pierced post and back. Enameled oval measures 20 x 16 mm with an inlaid six-pointed star that is set with old rough-cut diamonds and a 4.0 mm half pearl in the center. A simple tear-drop shaped dangle measures 13 x 4.75 mm. Total weight of the earrings is 5.0 dwts. Condition is good: black enameling has sustained some damage over the years and the stones in the star appear to be epoxied as a security measure to keep all the stones in place. Neither issue detracts from the beauty of these earrings!

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is.  I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist.  I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc.  I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty.  If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina.  Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.   Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
