Description

A lovely vintage antique-revival hinged bangle bracelet featuring a tiny shell cameo, circa 1940’s. The bangle is made of a gold-plated base metal with silver tone (rhodium plated) accents and hinges open with a fancy safety bar. The safety bar is stamped C.T. which likely refers to Cheever, Tweedy & Co. of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Cheever, Tweedy & Co.’s origins began in the 1880’s under the name J.G. Cheever & Co.* The clasping mechanism is a small tab that is releases when pressed. Both halves of the bangle have a lovely filigree design with a gold tone that is dotted with silver-tone accents. The top half features a small shell cameo that measures 11.5 x 9.0 mm. Overall width is 19.4 mm wide across the widest section and 15.9 mm throughout the rest. Inside length is 7 1/4-inches so it should fit those that wear a standard 7-7 1/2-inch flexible bracelet. Condition is very good: it has been repaired (two small sterling silver rivets have been added to secure the hinge). The top of the bangle has some discoloration where the rhodium has worn off.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is.  I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist.  I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc.  I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty.  If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina.  Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.   Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
