Description

An antique Victorian era stick pin featuring a tiny hardstone cameo, circa 1860’s. This is a stone cameo–commonly called hardstone–which is essentially, a style of banded agate (as opposed to the more common shell cameos). It is oval and is set in a ten-karat (tested) yellow gold frame with a base metal pin-stem. The frame consists of a thin bezel with decorative beads spaced throughout (some are missing). The cameo measures 9.0 x 6.6 mm; total length of pin, including the cameo, is 2 1/2-inches. I suspect the pin-stem was added at a later date (turn of the century) and the cameo had another function earlier in its life.

All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is. I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist. I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc. Many pieces have not been polished or cleaned (aside from a soft cloth) due to their delicate nature or to retain their natural patina. Some items can be altered, some cannot but please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can. Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in which they were received and within two (2) weeks of receipt.

Thank you!
Tina
