A beautiful vintage Art Deco ring, made of sterling silver and featuring a large, marquise cut amethyst, circa 1940. The amethyst is a large, marquise cut that meaures 18.5 mm (length) x 11.2 mm (width) x 6.25 mm (depth) and weighs approximately 5 1/2-carats. It is set securely in place by four split prongs in a sterling silver mounting with lovely filigree detailing on the sides of the shank. Overall width of the ring is 16.8 mm tapering to 2.7 mm at the base of the shank. It is a US finger size 5 3/4. Weight of the ring is 2.1 dwts (3.4 gr.). Condition is near perfect: the “points” of the amethyst have some tiny bruising (visible with magnification) which is consistent with age and use. I recommend wearing this ring “gently” since the points of the stone are exposed and can be damaged with heavy wear.
Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is. I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist. I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc. I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty. If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina. Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can. Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
