Description

An antique Victorian chatelaine mourning brooch, tested as 14k yellow gold and with black “Taille d’Epargne” enameling. This type of enameling was popular during the mid-19th century and is sometimes called black enamel tracery. This brooch is 14k yellow gold (tested as) with the appropriate style pin assembly for its age. Overall dimensions are 1 1/2 x 1 1/8-inches. Reverse has three small jump rings that possibly had a dangling accents at some point in its life. Condition is very good: some of the enameling as chipped, see photos.

All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is. I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist. I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc. Many pieces have not been polished or cleaned (aside from a soft cloth) due to their delicate nature or to retain their natural patina. Some items can be altered, some cannot but please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can. Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in which they were received and within two (2) weeks of receipt.
