Description
A simply beautiful vintage Victorian locket, yellow gold-filled with an elaborate sculptural design accented with hand-engraving, circa 1880’s. The locket is oval shaped and measures 1 5/8-inches long (42 mm) including the bail, 15/16-inches wide (24 mm) and 7/16-inches (11.5 mm) in depth. Design on the front is a raised X-shaped motif with a textured recessed background and a 5 mm decorative ball in the center. Reverse has a less dimensional design but is equally beautiful. It is hinged with a traditional clasping mechanism that functions properly. Condition is very good: there is a dent on the reverse and minor scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use. It has been lightly polished.

If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina. Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can. Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
