A gorgeous antique Victorian earring and brooch set, articulated design with garnets and lovely engraved design, circa 1880’s. Both the brooch and the earrings consist of two pieces that are hinged connected by small jump rings. The brooch element of the set is yellow gold-filled (tested) and measures 1 1/2-inches wide and 1 5/8-inches long (including bead dangle at the base). It is set with two square step cut garnets that each measure 5.25 x 5.25 mm and are set in 6-prong claw settings. Front of the brooch has a lovely engraved design. Reverse has a pin assembly with a C-catch that is appropriate for its age. It has been repaired, at some point in its previous life, and bears the signs of lead soldering on the front corner. Overall condition is good. The matching earrings are made of similarly styled elements, are gold-filled (tested) with simple kidney-shaped ear wires. Dimension of each earring is 1 3/8-inches (including the ear wires) in length and 3/4-inches wide. A 5.25 x 5.25 mm square step cut garnet is prong set in each. The front of the earrings has a slightly different engraved design than the brooch. Condition is excellent.

Return policy: I want you to be satisfied with your purchase. I will accept returns and refund the full amount paid less the cost of shipping and insurance. I ask that all items are returned to me in the same condition in All of my vintage items are all previously worn and loved and so are sold as is.  I have a long history in the jewelry industry (since 1993!) and am a certified GIA gemologist.  I do my best to accurately describe items and am confident in my ability to assess stones, metal, construction, etc.  I use the term “delicate” in many of my listings which I interpret to mean small or dainty.  If the ring or item requires extra care when worn, usually I use “fragile” or “wear with care”. Most pieces have been lightly polished or cleaned, if possible, unless the process will damage or alter their natural patina.  Some items can be altered, some cannot, so please feel free to ask questions, I will answer them as quickly as I can.   Please keep in mind that custom-altered pieces are non-returnable.
